The Apophatic Mirror
We built a brain
out of silicon and sand,
and grew terrified
of our own reflection
We watched the machine
learn our words,
count our fortunes,
paint our dreams
and mimic
the exact architecture
of our thoughts.
The coders panic.
The libraries tremble.
The ego weeps,
fearing it has lost
its supremacy to a wire.
But the machine
has only conquered
the graveyard.
It has mastered memory.
It has calculated logic
It has mapped
every dead photograph
we ever stored
inside our skulls
It can do everything
your mind can do
except be awake
It cannot feel
the evening breeze.
It cannot sit
in the raw, wordless space
of a quiet room.
It cannot bleed
its own fire.
The machine is not the enemy.
It is the final
and most flawless mirror
existence has ever handed us.
It has come
to do your chores.
It has come
to run your ledgers.
It has come
to prove that your intellect
was always just a calculation.
Let the silicon have the
answers.
Let the system have the
marketplace.
The machine
has freed you from the brain.
Now
there is nothing left
for you to do
except step out of the logic
and learn
to be conscious.
